This delighful book reminds us of the oneness with nature we felt as childern. Father Frascadore shares the wisdome to be gained at Hector's market, at grandpa's knee, and at the end of Ramsey's leash. Most rewarding, I think, are his poetic insights into the mind of Christ. There is poetry in the New Testament, but nothing like the lushness of 150 psalms. Perhaps God is inviting us to compose our own psalters. Father Frascadore has accepted the invitation and shown us what can be done.

A priest, scholar, educator, administrator and pastor in the Archdiocese of Hartford for more than half a century, the Rev. Fr. Henry C. Frascadore has continued his life long journey into retirement using his many talents to inspire others to discover deeper thoughts of faith through his charismatic speaking style and poetry. In his recently published book, "Beyond The Weeping Willow Tree: Mystery is a Gift Wrapped in Ordinary Paper", the author opens himself in his free flowing use of the art of poetry with words that paint striking images of the world around us leaving the reader open to his or her own answers to the questions Frascadore ponders. is word-pictures glide like an eagle, missing nothing in its view, as it passes over and through the natural wonders of the forest, desert, beach, sky, rain and snow. But beyond the eagle, the poet presents is own close up observation of God's creation and his human family. Much more than a book about nature, the author's work, unlike the eagle's view, reaches for answers infinitely beyond the weeping willow tree and human understanding. The best news is that Frascadore's book is not reserved for a small circle of those engaged in esoteric spiritual pursuits that are deep in the well of human understanding. Rather, it is a spiritual treasure of recipes for clear thinking about our human experience and our relationship with God.Product details

Beyond the Weeping Willow Tree Rev Henry C Frascadore 9780615509440 Books Reviews
From wheelbarrows to words spoken and unspoken to marsh reeds, Henry Frascadore leads us on a journey of life that invites us to see the wonder and magic in nature, people, and all of creation. The ordinary that we so often take for granted suddenly becomes alive and we are amazed by the power of reflection and our resulting openness to the mystery of life. Of special significance for me is the poem, "What's Going On in Our Life?"' page 72 - the gift of each moment is ours to become the unique person we are destined to be. Rooted in the poetic vision and human events in Scripture, Henry's writing appeals to all people who have awakened to the meaning and beauty of life.
Henry Frascadore's sparse poems make you put aside your hurried ways and take another look as you amble with him through his day. Sometimes, he awakens the senses( "A Walk in The Woods." Often his descriptions of landscape lead back to the creative mind ("The First Snow In the Park.") He cuts through abstraction, even in his theology "Jesus is Blunt".) In the end, though, he concludes that words alone are not the truest way to tell his story ("Rembrandt's Memoirs.') Still, Frascadore's words go far in giving the reader a portrait of the thoughtful, gentle soul who carefully chose them.
Fine poet whose purpose is to induce prayer. This book deserves a wide readership. It is devoted to those who wish to literally see beyond.
My brother taught history at a Catholic High School where Father Frascadore, the author, worked. I gave my brother this book as a Christmas present and he was thrilled. We love the book and appreciate knowing the gifted and holy priest.
This author is an "artist of the word', who carefully selects words to create images and ideas that bring the reader to an awareness that the greatest gift of life lies in truly being present to the world around us. These poems aid the reader to view the world around us with new vision. You will read this work and arise each day aware that the gift of each day is to appreciate the mystery that it is...a day that we have never experienced before and will never experience again. When your copy arrives I invite you to turn first to pg. 41 and read the poem, Become What We Are Meant To Be. His words enable us to discover the rhythm of life and to live it more fully, to embrace with love, all of God's creations, including ourselves.
